Masonic Re-Dedication Ceremony

One of our members came across the a webpage for the Masonic Re-Dedication Ceremony for the 150th Anniversary of Binghamton's "Castle on the Hill" that was held on September 24, 2008. Check out the page for some photos of members of our Lodge and other Lodges in the district who participated in the ceremony, along with information about the ceremony that was held.

2nd Degree Practices

The next meeting at Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970 will be a Second Degree. Practices are scheduled for Wednesday, April 6th at 7pm and Sunday, April 10th at 2pm. If you are able to attend and help out, it would be appreciated by all.

Masonic Development Course

**DATE/LOCATION CHANGE*** A Masonic Development Course (MDC) will be held on Saturday March 19, 2011 at Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970, from 9am until approximately 3pm. This is a reschedule from the previous dates of February 26th and March 5th. For more details or to sign up, please contact the secretary.

First Degree Practices

Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970 will be having a First Degree at our next meeting (3/10) at 6:30pm. Practices will be held Thursday, March 3 at 7pm, and Wednesday March 9 at 6pm.

Schedule Change

Due to a last minute scheduling conflict, we will be switching around our schedule for the next two meetings. The First Degree that was scheduled for February 24, 2011 will now be held March 10, 2011 at 6:30pm. Likewise, the Junior Warden program that was originally scheduled for March 10, 2011 will now be held February 24, 2011 at 7:30pm. All practices for the First Degree are postponed, and new dates will be announced at our next meeting.

St. Baldrick's

On April 3, 2011, Andrew Patterson (a member of Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970) will be shaving his head in support of research to find cures for childhood cancer. This is part of an event sponsored by the St. Baldrick's Foundation. More information about the St. Baldrick's Foundation can be found on their About Us page. Past Masters Night

On Thursday, February 10th, 2011 the officers and members of Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970 honored the Past Masters of the Lodge. The evening began with dinner, followed by a regular communication. In all, 18 Past Masters were in attendance, including the current District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) and Assistant Grand Lecturer of the Broome-Chenango district, 3 past DDGMs, a Past Grand Steward, a 72 year member, and 4 Dedicated Service Award recipients. The evening concluded with Past Masters assuming the chairs of each Lodge officer and closing the Lodge.

Past Masters Night

Our next meeting will be Past Masters Night. A dinner will be served at 6:30pm, followed by a meeting at 7:30pm. Reservations can be made with the Master or Wardens no later than February 7th.

Six New Master Masons

Congratulations to our six new Master Masons! On Thursday, January 27th, Johnson City Unity Lodge No. 970 conferred the 3rd Degree on 6 worthy candidates. While having so many men made for a late night, it was well worth it, and enjoyed by all.
